REEL RECAP
Reel New Haven is the real deal as a must-see, must-participate short film festival!
Wednesday, August 5th 2009, marked the first annual Reel New Haven short film festival in which 5 filmmakers, 6 judges and close to 250 viewers came together to make the festival a huge success in only its first year. For 4 hours, the backroom of BAR was transformed into a first-rate indie film theater in which audiences members were moved to tears, laughter, curiosity, freight and everything in between by Ryan O’Donnell’s Travertine, Kelly Shamburg’s SandStorm, Joel Vetsch’s Elm City Pulp, Zach Fox’s I’m Evil, You’re Dead and Mike Fiske’s Carl. Thank you to everyone that came together to make this festival the huge success that it was, and a special thank you to our judges for their hard work and thoughtful critique of all the films.
We are already gearing up for Reel New Haven 2010, so if you are interested in getting involved, be sure to check back on the website or email your interest to: Reel@newhaventheatercompany.com
