New Haven Theater Company is proud to announce the second annual short film festival—Reel New Haven. Reel NH offers filmmakers, actors, directors and arts enthusiasts the opportunity to create new and exciting short films celebrating their talents and celebrating the historic, thriving community of the Greater New Haven area.

Guidelines for Reel New Haven:
First and foremost, there are no age limits or professional requirements to create a film for Reel New Haven. We believe that film, and any entertainment outlet, should welcome people from all walks of life. However, we do want to encourage both our community and creativity. Thus, below you will find the guidelines that must be met in their entirety to have your film officially entered into Reel New Haven:
- Films must be a minimum of 5 minutes long and no longer than 15 minutes (running time includes credits).
- Each film must have at least 2 shot locations from the List of Potential Locations (additional material will be provided).
- Each film must include at least 5 items from the List of Potential Props (additional material will be provided).
- Films should be appropriate for all audiences. We are not trying to stunt creativity, but want to insure that the maximum amount of people see your film. Thus try to avoid excessive graphic material (nudity, language). Use your best judgment, and if we see some potential problems, we will either consult with you on the film to reedit it or, if not feasible, will kindly withdraw the film from the festival.

Deadlines for submitting for Reel New Haven:
- Letter of Intent- Filmmakers must submit a letter of intention (email works also) to submit a film for the Reel New Haven by April 1, 2010.
- Films must be submitted by 11:59 EST on July 9, 2010.
